I didn’t know it would mess with my consistency and made my icing soupy. It just wasn’t as vibrant as claimed either. My red was pink and I felt like I used half the bottle!

Red and black are two of the hardest colours to achieve with the food colouring and large amount has to be used to get deep colours. This may change the consistency of the buttercream though.
Whenever red buttercream is needed we recommend using “blooming” method and making buttercream at least a day ahead to let the colours deepen.
